Catalogue Rebuild for a Household Name
A faster store for a brand with 1.9M visits a month
I migrated Publishers Clearing House off their legacy ecommerce platform and rebuilt the full catalogue on Shopify Plus. Page loads dropped from over 3 seconds to under 1, the sweepstakes system was integrated on day one, and the switch happened without downtime.
Challenge
A creaking catalogue and a migration with no room for error
Page loads exceeded 3 seconds and conversion was suffering. The move had to keep brand recognition and SEO equity intact, integrate the sweepstakes system from day one and never take the store offline.
Solution
Rebuilt from the catalogue up
I rebuilt the catalogue architecture, mapped every redirect, optimised cart, checkout and mobile flows, improved on-page SEO for product pages, built a custom bonus threshold bar and integrated the CleanSweeps API for sweepstakes.
Result
Sub-second loads and an ongoing retainer
Loads went from 3+ seconds to under 1, conversion improved across cart and checkout, and the engagement continued as an ongoing retainer.
